Back to School Fundraising Campaign

A quarter of the world’s out-of-school children are from Nigeria. Since the onset of COVID-19, millions of children have been stuck at home, not learning. With schools now resuming, widespread job losses and cuts in parents’ earnings are forcing millions of children to leave school, never to return.
This Back to School Fundraising campaign is for the young people pictured above. Their education has been halted since January and they have been unable to resume school for the fall semester. This is due to financial challenges caused by and related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
These are bright and studious young people whose burning desire for education faces a very real threat of being extinguished. They are eager to return to their studies but are unable to. The pandemic has adversely affected their parents’ income and led to a dearth of funds.
Alex, Dare, Tomiwa, Jennifer, Samson and Sewa Oladejo (from left to right) are enrolled in tertiary and secondary educational institutions in South-Western Nigeria. They have impressive academic records and are eager to improve on them in the coming semester. Their student details, including course of study and major, are listed below.
Each of them has lofty dreams and aspirations, the fulfilment of which is tied to their having a good education. With an education, a bright future surely awaits them. With some funds, they can return to school and their studies. With your help, they can avoid “becoming a statistic”.
For them to resume school by January next year, the funds are needed on or before the end of December 2020. I assure you that your pledge will go towards funding these young peoples’ education. Further proof will be provided on request. If the funds raised exceed the target, the remaining sum will go towards paying next year’s fees. If the funds do not reach its target, we will utilize what we have and try again.
