Dear Friends and Supporters,
I’m thrilled to announce a new chapter for Lynn & Lorraine, my property in Accord, NY, which I’ve envisioned as a dynamic, multifunctional space for creativity and community. After five years of balancing short-term rentals at the property with my artistic career, I’m ready to bring this dream to life by hosting artists in residence.
This summer, I’ll kick off this vision by hosting a two-week artist residency and an art/film presentation during Upstate Art Weekend. Melinda James, a brilliant filmmaker, will in residence in July, and I am excited to share her work to the public On July 18th-20th during Upstate Art Weekend. But I need your help to make it happen!
I’m ambitiously aiming to raise $12,500 by July 22nd to fund:
- A two-week artist-in-residence program in July.
- Fees, installation, and organizational costs for participation in Upstate Art Weekend.
- A two-week writer-in-residence program in September.
- Essential home repairs and operational costs to support Lynn & Lorraine’s long-term growth.
I believe in this dream, and more importantly, I believe in the power of community to make it a reality. Thank you for your support in helping Lynn & Lorraine become a space for artists and creative dialogue. Let’s build something extraordinary together!
Extended Goals: $100,00
This initial fundraiser will support the immediate Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program and our public participation in Upstate Art Weekend. However, the ultimate vision for Lynn & Lorraine requires greater investment and resources. Looking ahead, I hope to:
- Build a large-scale creative studio.
- Landscape the land to support farming and recreation.
- Upgrade the houses with heating and insulation to run programs year-round.
- Sustain a free retreat reserved for Black women.
If we exceed our initial $12,500 goal, every additional dollar will go toward making these dreams a reality.
Thank you!
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
