Back Surgery for Ammo

Donation protected
On Tuesday, May 29th I woke up and found that our beloved boy was having trouble walking.  He was crossing his legs over and I immediately called his vet & took him in.  In the short time between that phone call and getting to the clinic he was knuckling on both back & his left front leg.  We started a course of antibiotics and steroids but he continued to steadily decline.  By Tuesday night he couldn't stand on his own or walk even with help.  He just collapses.  Wednesday morning we took him to see a neurologist who recommended an MRI to determine what the cause was.  He was diagnosed with a herniated cervical disc impacting all four limbs.  His cerebral function is excellent and he tried his hardest to wag his tail and stand to greet the doctor.  Ammo needs surgery.  With surgery the doctor expects his chances of complete recovery to be 90-95%.  Without surgery he expects 30-40% partial recovery.  Even with surgery he will never be allowed to jump again but he can still do most things he loves and lead an active and fulfilling life.

Ammo has been in my life since a few minutes after he was born 12/26/2008.  He is the sweetest, gentle, most loving boy.  He has always been there for me and now he needs me to be there for him.  The MRI and surgery costs will be at least $5400.  Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and the doctor advised the longer we wait, his chances of recovery decrease because of how severely compressed his spinal cord is.  Every gesture, every prayer is so greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
