Back Raine's Gender-Affirming Surgery

Hi all, thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Raine, I'm a musician and optician apprentice from Seattle, Washington, and I'm seeking some help in covering my insurance deductible and living expenses with a looming gender-affirming surgery scheduled for late July 2025. This has been a long time coming, I’ve endured countless setbacks year after year and am so excited to finally be standing at the threshold of my medical transition! I'm very fortunate to have insurance that will cover most of the expenses; however, music gigs have been slow this year, and the money I expected to have banked for this has fallen short.

After seven long years, a pandemic, job losses, homelessness, and adapting to life after recent neurodivergent diagnosis, it’s time to finally get on with surgery and start living my life. **UPDATE**

I just got word today that my short term disability insurance claim was denied because I haven't been in my current position long enough. I've updated my goal to to hopefully raise a bit more support to soften the blow from the work I'm going to miss while I recover.
