Help Fund the Side-Splitting NYC Premiere of DUNE-sical

We are looking to raise money for the Off-Broadway premiere of our show Dune! The Dunesical (The Unauthorized 4D "Muad’Dib: Experience) - Part 1 this fall at Theater For the New City as part of their 2025 Dream Up Festival.

Dune! The Dunesical (The Unauthorized 4D "Muad’Dib: Experience) - Part 1 is a parody musical for everyone from musical theater fans and Dune-heads to musical haters and people who actually played sports in high school. Created with genuine love for Frank Herbert’s iconic book series (or, well, actually the movies) by 2 writers with untreated ADHD, Dune! The Dunesical blends campy musical theater, raunchy fanfic, and confusing hardcore sci-fi no one can actually understand, into 1 endlessly hilarious experience.

The show irreverently retells Herbert’s epic tale of interplanetary war and a young man with an unavoidable destiny. At its heart, it's a universal tale of growing up, learning to control your murderous impulses, and becoming leader of the universe.

Writers Blake DuBois and TJ Canlon - a Dune nerd with a Letterboxd profile, and a woman who somehow got dragged into this - first began collaborating on original works while receiving their BFAs from the Boston Conservatory. With a third Dune film on the way in 2026, they felt now was the perfect time for what the franchise has always needed: a musical.

Dune! The Dunesical (The Unauthorized 4D "Muad’Dib: Experience) - Part 1 will have its official world premiere Off-Broadway this September as part of Theater For the New City’s Dream Up Festival 2025. We have a lot of work to do between now and then, and we'd love your support. We appreciate donations of any size, all of which go towards helping us hire actors, rent rehearsal space, orchestrate the music, and build the world of Dune! The Dunesical.
