My name is Edward "Bean" Kendall, boxing coach with over 46 years of boxing affiliation. My boxing career began in Flint, Michigan, where I started boxing at the age of eight. My amateur career was marked by significant success, including multiple tournaments wins in prestigious competitions such as the Silver Gloves, Junior Olympics, Golden Gloves, ABF, Ohio State Fair, and the Indiana Black Expo.
Since 1997, I transitioned my expertise into coaching, mentoring countless amateur champions at the renowned Berston Field House in Flint, Michigan with an impressive roster of athletes including Sardis Simmons, Ardreal Holmes Jr., and Claressa Shields. I currently coach professional boxers Ardreal “Bossman” Holmes Jr. and Jaquan “King Quan” McElroy, as well as three promising amateur boxers: Joshua Riley, Rayquan Gardner, and Garrett Rice Jr.
Beyond boxing, my coaching experience extends to 18 years of coaching middle and high school basketball as well. My dedication to these athletes is unwavering, emphasizing the mastery of fundamental skills and individualized coaching approaches. I emphasize and prioritize a focused training regimen, combining rigorous practice with competitive tournament participation.
To further cultivate my athletes' potential, I am seeking support to cover the expenses associated with upcoming competitions. Two of my amateur boxers have qualified for the USA Boxing Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from September 13th to 20th. The estimated cost for this seven-day trip (including accommodation for four individuals – Coach Kendall, an assistant coach, and the two boxers) is $3860, encompassing transportation, lodging, and meals.
Any assistance you can provide, whether financial or in the form of encouragement and support, would be greatly appreciated and instrumental in helping these young athletes achieve their full potential. Thank you for your time and consideration.
