Back Our Blades! JCBC

ROW TO LONDON 2023

Running for its 2nd year, JCBC will be rowing to London on the 8th-10th September all the way from Oxford. The challenge will be completed by both students and alumni, and any support you can show will be sure to help motivate them when the hours get tough.

10% of what we raise from the ergathon will also be donated to our charity partner, the Dr Sean McGrady foundation.

JCBC is raising money to cover the cost of new blades. These are an essential bit of kit that will help our top crews go even faster!

Our existing blades have supported 20+ years of college rowing, and will have unlocked enjoyment of the sport for hundreds of students, many rowing for the first time at college.

We hope an investment in these new blades will guarantee we can do the same for many more years to come.

The Dr Sean McGrady Foundation. The Dr Sean McGrady Foundation has been founded in memory of Sean McGrady, who was heavily involved with Jesus College as a student and a junior fellow before progressing to professorships in North America. Sean was a keen champion of education for all who have a thirst to learn, irrespective of economic capacity. The Foundation promotes education (including social and physical training) and has a desire to provide scholarships, bursaries and maintenance awards. The club has previously supported the foundation with a Dragon race and Row to London in 2022, and is pleased to continue our partnership of mutual support.
