Hello! My name is Justin Bergin, or as the students in the Baraboo School District call me, JB. I am here trying to fund a teaching license so that I can continue serving my community, and build a career to benefit my family and I.
For two years, I worked as the world languages teacher at Jack Young Middle School, and it was there that I discovered how fulfilling it is to teach young people. I always assumed I would teach college students, but preparing young minds for greater goals ahead motivated me to change my path. Unfortunately, due to licensing issues while also dealing with a family emergency, I had to resign. This was heartbreaking.
An unexpected outcome of working at the middle school was the many meaningful connections I developed with families, community members, and coworkers. Former students and parents alike would see me in public and ask when I was coming back, and I never had a good answer to give them until now. Currently I am at Baraboo High School, teaching literature as a long term substitute, which has reinvigorated me, and renewed my interest in rejoining this district as a full teacher. With your help, I can afford licensure through the American Board Exam and begin again serving my community and developing a career in education.
The $1900 I am hoping to raise will pay the full amount of the American Board Exam enrollment. If I am lucky to receive any contributions beyond that amount, I will set that aside to put towards a vehicle, which I could also not afford to replace during that same family emergency.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
