Back Independent Art: Mona's Film Project
Donation protected
I'm looking for donors to help me finish my first feature-length documentary, "Trail Markers," and to help keep me on track with any other film projects that come up over the next few years. We cannot count on traditional funding sources anymore (not that they were ever a major source of income), so it's up to individuals to back the kind of art they want to see us put out into the world. If you are fortunate enough to have discretionary funds in this day and age, I hope you will support me, or support your other favorite artists whose work speaks to the times in which we are living.
About "Trail Markers:" Artist Mona Gazala finds unlikely ties to her Palestinian heritage in rural Darke County, Ohio... in the form of a significant artifact at the local history museum. What is the artifact, and how did it wind up here? "Trail Markers" takes the viewer on a winding trail to the answer, following the connective threads of empire and diaspora.
What your donation will do: You will be helping me keep the lights on as I work on the final edits, re-shoot necessary footage, and seek help with sound engineering in post-production. You are also helping me pay for the licensing of vocalists and musicians' work that is so integral to the proper telling of this story. And you will be helping me with travel costs and entry fees as I take my film to film festivals and in-person screenings around Ohio and beyond.
Any amount no matter how small is wholeheartedly welcome. BONUS for those donating $50 or more: I will include your name in the closing credits of the film!!!!
