Hello, my name is Nicole C.
I am a die-hard, eat sleep & breathe the Buffalo Bills fan.
I'm 30 years old and have been born and raised in WNY my whole life.
Back in 2019, I was in a coma due to contracting a blood clot in my small intestine which at that point, 85% of it was removed. Thankfully, I did not need an ostomy back nor did I need a bowel transplant. However, the road to recovery was not easy. I continue to battle with blood clots and bowel issues. My bowel surgeon did advise years ago that I could start to have issues within my bowel again, and unfortunately, it looks like that is starting to happen, and now my liver as well.
Recently, over the last 1.5 weeks, I started to notice that I was not able to keep anything down. I thought maybe it was because I had caught a stomach bug, but truly the only time I was getting sick was only when I ingested something.
I dropped 9 lbs in a matter of a week and became extremely dehydrated.
Mind you, I have been in the ER numerous times over the last 1.5 years begging for something to be done. I needed answers. I called my surgeon Tuesday morning to explain what was happening, especially because my INR has been up and down and it's been causing a lot of complications.
So now, bring us to right now.
I have a large clot in my liver and because it's occluding and congested and it's worrying not only the surgeon but myself and my family as well.
Right now, we are trying to get my INR down so that they can put me on a heparin drip to be able to do a biopsy and then clean my IVC filter out - and then depending on the results, I may need bowel surgery again.
I am officially out of work now again and will probably be out until the beginning of Feb.
This means I will get significantly behind on my bills on top of the medical bills I am going to be acquiring as well.
I am never the one to ask for hands outs, and it's usually me that's helping everyone else.
The way I look @ it is, I have the means to help I will. People struggle every day.
This is why they call Buffalo the City of Good Neighbors.
Whether you can share and or/donate anything is appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading this.
