Falcon Eye Films is in production on the homegrown documentary film Naptown Soundwaves — The Zenith Of Fowl Records which is centered around the rise-and-fall of the iconic Annapolis-based independent label Fowl Records and the peak Maryland music scene that surrounded it from 1994 - 2002

Director & Producer Ben Paul Morris (The Solderer & Down In The Dena) along with the cooperation of label founders Jimi "Haha" Davies (Jimmie's Chicken Shack Frontman) and Richard James Burgess (Record Producer, Band Manager, & CEO of the American Association Of Independent Music), aims to explore the musical landscape of the Baltimore/Annapolis corridor during the late 90s through the early 2000s from a fan's POV and paying homage to the influential bands that populated the scene. This soundtrack-driven film will introduce audiences to a moment in Maryland music history that shadowed the Seattle grunge scene, the Boy Band craze, and the East & West Coast's pursuit of rap world domination. The film will also broach on topics such as the measure of success, band longevity, dedicated fan bases, camaraderie, the ups & downs of working with major labels, luck, and so much more

Production is already underway but we need your support to continue the process. All monies received via GoFundMe and other outlets will go towards efforts like:

• Music Licensing

• Art Licensing

• Film Production Expenses (i.e. freelance crew fees, location fees, equipment rental, crew and/or talent travel)

• Talent/Appearance Fees (if applicable)

• Post Production (editing, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, animation, VFX)

• Marketing & Promotion (social media ad campaigns, website domain fees, printed material)

• Festival Entry Fees

• In-Person Premier Screening

• Distribution (Blu-Ray/DVD release)

Ultimately, this project is a labor of love but love isn't the only asset that gets us to the finish line. Paying our freelance crew a reasonable rate is our priority and we simply cannot do that without good ol' fashion cashola. Post-production is also of utmost importance. An editor who excels at visual storytelling is an integral part of the process. That said, premium talent comes at a premium cost. Post-production will account for roughly 60% of our overall budget but it will be worth every dag'gone penny! We're currently in the process of vetting post-production professionals and will announce our selection in the coming months

We're eyeing a release across streaming platforms, coupled with a our big screen premiere, sometime in the Fall of 2026. We're about to begin scheduling interviews which we'll film between late September and December of 2025. Along with that, we'll collect archival materials, film B-Roll segments & live performances, and pursue licensing agreements which will take us into the new year. The hope is for post-production to begin in March of 2026 with a picture lock in August at the latest. Follow us on social media for updates on our progress!
