Hey! We're Floorwork Arts Collective, an indie Brooklyn theatre company aiming to produce collaborative new work "from the ground up" that speaks to contemporary social issues. Floorwork was created in Spring 2024 by co-founders Becca Neckritz, Matti Parone, Sarah Powers, and Mara Einson.
RECENT FLOORWORK PRODUCTIONS:
Did you come see us in August at Grey Studios for our very first live reading of Great Bends? (if so, you were ahead of the game! talk about finger on the pulse...) ORRR maybe, you came to one of our many writing workshops and open writing days? Maybe we shared dinner and cried together at our immersive, dinner theatre production of Great Bends at ThirdSpace in collaboration with Stay for Supper!? Maybe you were one of our guests at BRADTOPIA, a night of laughing, dancing, drinking, photobooth-ing, tarot reading, prize-winning, salad-eating, with performances from local DJs, clowns, and artists, including BRADTOPIA, a one-act satire by Rebecca Neckritz.
Or maybe you're just meeting us! Either way, we are very excited to get to know you more.
THE FUNDRAISER:
Floorwork is currently raising funds to enter into our next year full of new, innovative theatre pieces, calling in community members of all artistic backgrounds. Most notably, we are fundraising for our next project - a COLLABORATIVE, IMMERSIVE theatre project exploring themes of alternatives to capitalism and imaging a new, different, and better world for all.
We have been overjoyed at the support and success of Floorwork over the past year - thanks to collective members like you and we cannot wait for the next year of creation and collaboration. Thank you for your help making it all happen.
OUR MISSION:
Floorwork Arts Collective aims to produce collaborative new work "from the ground up" that speaks to contemporary social issues. By imbedding the values of our art into our creative practice, we empower emerging interdisciplinary artists to praxis their ideas while creating with, educating, and entertaining audiences in experimental productions. Our goal is to create nontraditional, anti-capitalist theatre in community that deconstructs hierarchies and promotes ecological sustainability.
