Help Coach Darren Sanderson Attend Nationals One Last Time

Hi, my name is Chance Sanderson, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my big brother, Coach Darren Sanderson, travel to Virginia Beach to attend the National High School Gymnastics Competition.

Darren has been the head gymnastics coach at Lubbock High School for the past 25 years. Throughout his career, he's dedicated himself to helping young athletes grow, thrive, and achieve incredible things. Sadly, due to budget constraints, Lubbock ISD has decided to cancel the gymnastics program after this year.

This June, one of Darren’s standout athletes has earned the incredible opportunity to compete on the Texas State Team at the national level. Darren wants nothing more than to be there—to coach, support, and share in this athlete’s success. Unfortunately, with the program ending and no funding available, Darren would have to cover all expenses himself.

I’m creating this fundraiser to help Darren make the trip to Virginia Beach. It would not only support a talented gymnast in reaching his potential but also serve as a meaningful farewell to a sport—and a career—that Darren has loved deeply since his own high school days.

The 2025 National High School Gymnastics Championships are scheduled for June 3rd-4th at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA. The event is organized by the National Gymnastics Association (NGA) and features competitions for both women and men, with different levels and divisions. The competition is open to the public and will showcase high school-level gymnastics talent from across the country.
