On June 9th of 2022, I escaped the clutches of a small, spirituality-based therapy cult that claimed the better part of my adult life, from the ages of 27 to 41. It was the scariest day of my life. I have spent every day since then walking the path of trauma recovery, facing many fears and overcoming countless challenges, but none so great as the day I faced the man who controlled every single aspect of my life and said, "No more."
Since that time, I have determined to live my life fully, embracing every single day of freedom as I navigate the path of recovery. I am determined to transform my real life experience of living with, and recovering from, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder into a thing of value that can not only contribute positively to others who are facing similar recovery paths, but to the world as a whole.
To that end, I have written a simple manuscript distilling the tools, techniques and tips that I have learned so far. My task has been synthesizing these discoveries into an easy-to-digest (and dare I say, fun?) layman's guide to the earliest days of recovery from cultic and narcissistic abuse. My inspiration for this work was to create an approachable, short guide that -- if I could go back in time and place in my own hands a mere three years ago -- would help to clarify and expedite my healing journey.
Now, in honor of the three-year anniversary of that day of escape, I am reaching out for help in making this vision a reality, so thank you for being here! The book is written. I am in the final stages of personal revisions and entering the initial stages of the self-publishing process. This process will include line editing, copy editing, cover design, interior design, copyrighting and final prep for publication and distribution in both paperback and ebook formats.
The funds raised from this project will be used exclusively to cover the cost of these final stages of production and self publishing so that I may release the finished product out into the world. ANY amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated! Please share this campaign with any-and-every-one who may find a bit of joy in supporting this cause. My hope is that it can help others who are traversing the same shaky paths.
