Since I was young, Japan has been more than just a place on the map for me—it has been a dream, a safe haven, a light that shone even in my darkest moments. My infatuation with Japan began as a fascination with its culture, language, and traditions, but over time, it became so much more. It became my anchor, my escape, and my hope. When I was bullied, when I felt isolated and alone, the thought of Japan gave me something to hold onto. Learning about its history, immersing myself in its language, and dreaming of the day I would walk through the bustling streets of Tokyo or the serene paths of Kyoto kept me afloat. It was more than just a distant fantasy; it was a reminder that there was a world beyond my pain, a world I was determined to reach. Now, as I stand at the crossroads of my future, studying abroad in Japan is not just an opportunity—it is a necessity. It will be an experience that will shape me in ways nothing else can. From mastering the language to immersing myself in an entirely different way of life, every aspect of studying in Japan will help me grow personally, academically, and professionally. But beyond all of that, there is one reason above all why I must go—my younger self.
