Faith, Hope, & Love to Baby Wesley

The best thing about growing up in a small town is that when something tragic happens such a small community is able to come through and be so strong and supportive to those in need. Clay and Jessica Schneider have been through hell and back with Baby Wesley as many of us all know.  Since the day he was born, Wesley has been fighting for his life and continues to do so at Children's Hospital. Wesley was premature by months, and thankfully both Jessica and Wesley made it through the birth. Since then, Wesley has been in the NICU fighting and struggling for every breath of his life. He continued to fight this battle these last 2 months he has been born. Things were looking up once they were discharged to go home from Aurora Sinai, but just three days later, things took a turn for the worst. Wesley was having labored breathing and within seconds 911 was called and Wesley was rushed down in yet another ambulance ride, this time going to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Wesley has had every test in the book performed, but things continued to all come back negative. The worst part of this all is the unknown and seeing your child fight for every breath but wondering what unknown illness is the cause of this all?  Yesterday, during a feeding  with Jess, he continued to have apnea episodes and things went downhill yet again. The doctor came in to talk to Jess and it was decided that a NG tube needed to be put in so Wesley could still receive food without having to worry about him breathing through it. Seeing Jess at that moment just broke my heart to see her watching her baby continue to fight for every breath every day, and feeling like she just wishes she could take his place. Last night, it was confirmed that vital bronchiolitis and possible RSV are to blame for the continuous struggle to breathe frome the very start. After a chest x-ray was performed, it showed that pockets of his lungs have collapsed, so they decided that the breathing tube would be the safest thing for him right now. Wesley is now relying on the machine to do 100% of his breathing, in hopes his little body can take a break and let the virus run its course as he continues to fight this heartbreaking illness. On top of this all, they have two children already trying to remain strong for them and I can't even imagine trying to remain calm and tell them everything will be okay. Clay has used all his vacation during this time because the poor family cannot afford not to have a paycheck. We all have come through with continuing support and prayers being sent and words cannot even begin to express how thankful they are from you all. I cannot even begin to imagine the heartwrenching emotions they are experiencing with everything and how strong they continue to be. Clay and Jessica are honestly the most unselfish people around and I cannot even begin to imagine the medical bills coming their way. They have so much going on with Wesley and are holding strong to just focus on Wesley and deal with the financial issues later. These two would never ask for a dime of help from anyone; however, I feel they could use some extra faith, hope, love, prayers, and support to help them through this hard time not only just through prayers but I am hoping we can come together as a community and raise some money for these two who deserve it beyond words can express. If you are able and your financial standpoint makes it eligible, I would greatly appreciate any amount you are able to donate to these two. No parent should have to ever experience going through this, yet Wesley and the preicous little family continues to remain strong and fight through this. To wrap this all up, I just want to thank you for your outpouring love and support to the Schneider family. Let's keep this small community fighting strong for them and continued prayers will be beyond appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and let's continue to fight and be strong just like Baby Wesley. xoxo
