We are Matt and Laura Pruitt and our baby boy that’s due in October has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome or HLHS. It is a rare and severe condition where the left side of the heart doesn’t develop properly during pregnancy. Because of this he will have to undergo three major open heart surgeries all before the age of five. The first surgery being at around 6 days old, the second at around 6 months old and the third being between 3-5 years old. The surgeries will essentially consist of rebuilding and rearranging the ventricles and arteries so that blood is able to pump to his lungs and body properly.

We have created a GoFundMe to help raise funds for all of the upcoming surgeries and long stays in the hospital. We have created a puzzle where you can donate $10 to buy a piece. We will write your name on the back of the puzzle piece so that we will always remember who donated and helped during this difficult time. You can purchase more than one puzzle piece or just make a straight donation if you would like. Once the puzzle is complete we will frame and hang it in the nursery.

Although this has been a very uncertain time for us, we choose to still praise and worship a God who we know can perform miracles. More than anything we ask for your prayers. We know prayer can heal and choose to have faith during this trial we’re walking through.
