Baby is a two-year tortie dumped on my family's street when she was only two months old with a healed fracture injury in her front right paw. My sister and I adopted her and wanted to give her a chance at life. She was alone when we found her and came to our house looking for food. We couldn't possibly leave a tiny and disabled kitten alone on the streets.

Unfortunately, Baby has a mast formed on one of her paws and requires urgent amputation surgery. Baby's cancer condition can only be cured through amputation. The cancer is benign. However, Baby is fully conscious and cognitive. Our parents do not want to offer us support to save Baby's life, and insist on euthanizing her and ending her life at two years. Despite the issues, Bay's spirit and personality are as sweet and lively as ever, even when enduring the pain from the mast.

Our close friend is applying for a CareCredit card to help break down the amputation process into monthly installments. In the meantime, my sister and I are doing everything we can to pay for her vet visits every three days, medicine, and bandaids until we figure out how to pay for the surgery. However, we are struggling to care for ourselves and Baby, and the decision to put her down is still in the air. My sister and I are only students, but we're giving everything we have for Baby right now. She is the sweetest cat, loves everyone the first time she meets them, and is so grateful for her chance at life; we don't want to let her down. My sister and I plan on paying for most of the amputation, estimated to be around $2k (the original price from a different vet was $5k, but fortunately, we found a vet that truly cared for baby rather than wanting a profit).
