Early into our marriage, we discovered we were pregnant. Immediately after hearing the news, our doctor informed us it was an ectopic pregnancy. Unsure what that meant at the time, we were told that there was no hope for the baby as it was conceived in the fallopian tube and would not survive. This, of course, crushed us… before we could even get excited about having a child; we had already lost our future baby Markel.
We continued to pursue our dream of starting a family, but after years of trying with no success, we decided to talk with a professional about our chances. Through many doctor’s visits and testing, we were officially diagnosed with infertility due to blocked tubes from our earlier pregnancy.
Now, after much prayer and discernment, we have decided to pursue our only option to have our little baby Markel – in vitro fertilization (IVF). Our doctor has told us that we are ideal candidates for this procedure. Unfortunately, infertility treatments are very rarely covered by insurance – and our current coverage is no exception. We are reaching out to you at this time to ask for your help through prayer and finances. We have currently raised $15,000 by saving each month for the past year, and we still need another $5,000 for medications to go through with the procedure in January 2016.
