Baby Macie
Donation protected
I am asking for help on behalf of my niece, Macie and her family. Macie is the youngest of 4. She is 3 weeks away from celebrating her 2nd birthday! Macie is a smart, beautiful little girl! She is full of love and life and can be goofy at times! She loves Minnie Mouse and playing with all of her little friends! Macie lives with her Mommy (Megan) & Daddy (Alvin), two big sisters and a big brother.
On Monday, June 26, 2017 Macie went to the ER for vomiting and dehydration. While she was there the doctors did an ultrasound to see if there was a blockage in her intestine. They didn’t find any blockage but incidentally found a large choledochal cyst in her bile duct. Macie has gone through a battery of testing and procedures over the last week. The doctors decided to keep her in the hospital until her surgery date on July 13th because she developed an infection and needs to remain on an aggressive antibiotic regimen. On July 13th the doctors will be removing Macie’s cyst, bile duct and gallbladder. After surgery Macie will need to remain in the hospital for 7 to 10 days for recovery.
Macie’s mommy Megan, is a home daycare provider and needed to close her daycare due to Macie’s extended hospital stay. Because of that, Megan currently has no income. Due to this sudden and unexpected hospitalization their family has been put into a serious financial bind. In addition to this unexpected financial emergency, the family will face the additional medical expenses associated with the ER, extended hospitalization, procedures, and surgery.
I am humbly asking for any help that you are able to provide and we all greatly appreciate your help! We are also very grateful for all of the well wishes, prayers and visitors for baby Macie.
If there are any funds remaining after medical bills and expenses have been met, they will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Megan and Alvin’s family have gone to the RMH Family Room and spent hours playing and enjoying time together in a place that feels more like home than a hospital and we would love to give back to them.
Please feel free to share on your Facebook pages. Thank you, mahalo, arigato and salamat po.
