This fund is being established to support the Nathan and Lindsay Hermiller Family who will be welcoming a new bundle of love into their lives within the next 24 hours! They are embarking on a unexpected journey with their 3rd child who was diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia. This is a very serious birth defect which will require a significant hospitalization and surgical intervention to correct.
Having a child with a birth defect is emotionally and physically draining, but it’s no surprise that its also a huge financial burden. Not only will the family be hit with large medical bills and copays, they also will have to contend with loss of income from not working, cost of commuting to and from the hospital, meals on the road, extra childcare for their other two children, & accommodations closer to the hospital, to name just a few.
Many people have asked how they can help and this is one way you can show your support.Your donation will allow the family to be able to be together and have one less burden and fear in the back of their mind. This will allow them to focus on what is most important, what they hold most dear: family.
I know for a fact that Nathan and Lindsay would never ask for financial assistance BUT I am someone who truly understands what they are going through, as my son was born with a life-threatening congenital birth defect. I was fortunate enough to have amazing, caring friends (including the Hermillers, I should add) and family who made a fund like this. The money raised was an ABSOLUTE LIFE-LINE for us! I hope that we can all band together and be able to support them in this way, as well.
In life we are fortunate to come across TRULY kind, humble, good-hearted, people and if you’re lucky you get to call them your co-workers and if even luckier- friends! This is my story with Nathan and Lindsay and I could want nothing more than to support them during this time.
