Charlotte was born prematurely with an abdominal abnormality called an omphalocele along with significant respiratory dysfunction. These issues, combined with other compliacations, make it impossible for her to eat and breath on her own; two functions that most of us take for granted on a daily basis.
She is almost 4 months old and has not left the NICU in which she calls home. Not to mention that her amazing mother was hospitalized at 25 weeks due to Charli's eagerness to enter this world. They were able to hold Chali off until 32 weeks while her mom was under extreme bed rest precautions.
Charli underwent surgery recently to close her abdomin. Hopefully this will bring Charli a step closer to going home.
You can only imagine the emotional, physical, and financial strain that her family is under. This is our opportunity to help.
