Baby Blake and The Woodward Family

Donation protected
On February 10th, Megan & Stephen Woodward welcomed their son Blake Thomas Woodward into the world. He weighs 6 pounds 4 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long. Shortly after his arrival, doctors discovered that he was not getting enough oxygen and took him to the NICU for further evaluation. After several tests were run it was determined that something was wrong with the pulmonary veins in his heart. Stephen and Blake were flown to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston late on the evening of the 10th. Blake had open heart surgery performed on Sunday morning. He is now recovering in the Cardiovascular NICU and is doing well… but he has a long road ahead. Megan was released from the hospital in Austin on the 11th and was able to join Stephen and Blake, along with their 2-year-old son Bradley in Houston later that day. Blake will be spending an extended amount of time at Texas Children’s Hospital as he recovers. As you can imagine, the medical bills and expenses that the Woodward family will be faced with will be a huge burden for their growing family.

Megan and Stephen are both teachers in the Austin area. Megan teaches 2nd grade in Leander and Stephen is an Elementary PE coach in Austin. They have dedicated their lives to the children and families they serve. It is now our turn as friends and family to give back to this sweet family that has selflessly given so much to others.

We created this page to help the Woodward Family with financial support so they can continue to stay by Blake's side in Houston during these difficult times. Any funds donated will go directly to them to help cover medical costs, lodging and anything else that may arise during this time. We thank you for your prayers, positive thoughts and support.

Blake UPDATE 2/15/2018
Minor setback last night.  After taking the breathing tube out, Blake started having trouble breathing. After a chest X-ray they discovered that part of his lung collapsed.  They put the breathing tube back in and his lung is back up and running. They will leave the breathing tube in for a day or so to allow the lungs enough time to repair themselves.  The doctors and nurses are all very positive and this was just a minor setback.  Bradley, Stephen and Stephen's parents went to the Zoo this morning.  Bradley has been a trooper!
