My dear friends Christian and Heidi Byers gave birth to their first child, a beautiful baby boy named Bjørn, on September 11, 2015. He was born with what is called a diaphragmatic hernia. It means that at some point during the pregnancy a hole developed in his diaphragm that allowed his intestines and most likely his liver to move up into his chest stunting the growth of the lung on his right side.

UPDATE: This past Tuesday Bjørn had his surgery,  and the doctors said it was a big success.  They were able to suture his diaphragm together and close up the hole in his stomach. Next step is to get the breathing tube out. It is expected that he will be in the hospital in recovery for somewhere between 1-2 months. 

Of course, keeping a baby in the hospital for two months is going to be a huge financial undertaking for a young couple. So thus this fundraiser is born, to try and help them out. Anything you can give will be very appreciated! And above all, prayers, love, and support is always welcome :)
