Jon Jonson Baby J Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Guys, Im setting up this fund for one of our own. Jon Johnson from Online Marketing is going through the fight of his life with his newborn baby boy and young bride. He did not ask me to do this, but I thought it would be a great gesture to help him through this.
Feel free to donate anything you can for his cause.
This morning Aly went into a series of seizures which lead to dangerously high blood pressure for her and our baby. She was rushed to the hospital around 8:00am. By 9:00 the amazing team at Akron General prepped an emergency C-section and at 9:17 we welcomed Jon Chase Johnson III (at only 3lbs 2oz) into this world to start what will be an uphill battle. At 8 weeks premature, his lungs were underdeveloped and his oxygen saturation levels dangerously low. He was rushed next door to Akron Children’s hospital where he was admitted to the NICU. After a series of tests it was determined it wasn’t in fact his lungs that were the real problem, it was his heart. JCJ III (been waiting months to call him that) suffers from “Transposition of the great arteries- a serious but rare heart defect present at birth (congenital), in which the two main arteries leaving the heart are reversed (transposed).” Within the hour baby Jon was on a helicopter to Cleveland Clinics main campus where an emergency cardiac catheterization. Essentially a surgeon went in through is belly button, scoped up to his heart and used a sort of balloon to open a small hole between to cambers to allow the red and blue blood to mix. He finished up around 8pm and is in stable condition. This procedure is a temporary solution to the bigger problem. Our next goal is to get his vitals solid, then spend the next two months getting him up to a weight where the surgical team feels comfortable performing an arterial switch operation, which should in theory fix the problem long term and hopefully let him live a normal active childhood. Back in Akron, Aly is resting and should make a full recovery from both the seizures and the C-section. We are grateful for the support and love from everyone and will do our best to keep everyone posted
