Baby Zayden Funeral Expenses

UPDATE: The original "story" I wrote last week had a much different ending than the one we were all praying for. As I posted in a separate update on Wednesday morning August 5th, Zayden passed away a little over 24 hours after his open heart surgery. As the family had to shift from long term care in the ICU and at home as he recovered, the campaign heartbreakingly shifted to funeral expenses.

Any and all donations will go towards funeral expenses for Zayden, which are currently at approximately $24,000 with the service, headstone and purchase of a plot. If there are any funds left over, they will go towards medical bills and/or possibly a charitable foundation. Stephanie and Isaic and their families are so very grateful for the outpouring of support.

This is the story of Stephanie and her baby boy Zayden, born July 30th, 2020. Stephanie and her boyfriend Isaic are allowing me to share their and Baby Zay's story.

Stephanie got devastating and scary news at her 35 week checkup--her baby boy was diagnosed with HLHS (Hypoplastic left heart syndrome), which is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. After several hours, additional test and many doctors, the cardiology specialist finally explained that Baby Zayden was missing part of his heart.

Zayden will be having the first of 3 open heart surgeries on Monday, August 2rd and will remain in the NICU for 4-6 weeks after this first surgery. We'll be raising money to help with hospital and medical expenses for this precious baby boy.

Stephanie is an amazingly strong and beautiful woman, friend, daughter, co-worker and girlfriend, and now she is a new mommy facing the most difficult thing any parent can imagine.

Anything you can donate will be so humbly appreciated by Stephanie, Isaic and Baby Zayden. I had to convince Stephanie to let me organize this fundraising effort because she's just so self-sufficient and wants to handle things herself, but I told her that people would want to help and support her, Isaic and Baby Zay however they can.

Please lift up prayers for Zayden, Stephanie, Isaic and their families on Monday for the surgery and every day as they face these challenging and scary times.
