This week my beloved niece Larissa and her boyfriend Cjae tragically and unexpectedly lost their 2 month old baby girl to SIDS. Xiena was Larissa's only child and the absolute love of her life. There are no words to express what they are going through. Our entire family is heartbroken.
During her pregnancy, Larissa pushed through her classes at Jackson State University maintaining a 3.2 GPA. She returned home as her due-date neared and continued taking classes on line. When baby Xiena showed up 2 weeks early, she took only a brief leave from school and then jumped back in to finish her final semester. She is in the final days of completing her classes. Xiena died this Thursday.
At 22 and just in the process of completing her bachelors, Larissa has no full-time job, no savings, and no insurance. Cjae is also in the process of completing his degree and is working full-time to support his family. He has had to miss hours in the wake of this tragedy as the young couple is now faced with hospital bills and funeral costs.
Please consider helping Larissa and Cjae. At a time when they should be enjoying their young family and building for the future, they are hurt, confused, grieving, and completely devastated. We don't want money and funeral costs to become another burden for them right now. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover expenses, half of which is needed within the next week. The funds raised will be used towards funeral expenses, hospital bills and aiding in their living expenses while they work through their loss.
