My dear friend Ashley and her family are going through an extremely difficult time. Ashley is a single parent to two wonderful children , Angelique ( 7 years old) and baby Yuxenio (3.5 months). 

Yuxenio has had a rough start to life. Since the begining he has had a hard time eating and gaining weight. They thought it was just a bad case of acid reflux, until he was three months old and not gaining weight. Xeni would throw up a few minutes after eating and would continue to throw up until there was nothing left. He only gained four ounces in two weeks. They tried many different formulas because they thought that maybe he had some allergies to some of the ingredients. The formulas were expensive and weren't working. He was then diagnosed with failure to thrive.

Two days ago Ashley received a phone call from the daycare saying that Xeni was throwing up everywhere. She took him to the ER and was then sent to the children's hospital in Portland where they admitted him. They have been running test after test and coming up with nothing. Yuxenio hasn't held food down in days. They just put in a feeding tube hoping that this will help him gain weight and receive the nutrients that his body needs. Xeni will also be having surgery soon for another health issue.

Due to all that Ashley is dealing with and having to do it as a single parent her work has put her on unpaid leave until December 1st. Being a single parent is difficult emotionally, physically and financially. Having a sick baby ontop of that all makes it that much more difficult.

I am setting up this fund to help ease some of her stress so that she won't have to worry so much about finances and she will be able to focus on her children and on her son's health.

Anything is helpful and would be appreciated more than you could possibly know! She is a wonderful person and an amazing mother. Even if you can't help prayers, encouragement and sharing her story would be amazing as well. Anything to help her get through this difficult time.
