On May 10th, 2023, my beautiful nephew Xander Cade Conrad was born weighing in at 8 lbs 12oz. Shortly after he was born, they noticed something was wrong and he was placed into a low level NICU. Within 24 hours of being born, his condition worsened dramatically and was rushed to the NICU at Albany Med. He is very, very critical with multiple heart defects and will need open heart surgery in the coming days to save his life.
The surgery (likely the first of many to come) will be 10+ hours long and expensive.
Mark and Brittany are both on parental leave; however, after a healthy pregnancy and birth, Xander’s condition was a complete shock and they will need help covering the insurance deductibles/copays of Xander’s surgeries and NICU stay. He will be in the hospital for many months. Any help for my brother, Mark, and sister in law, Brittany, in this unbearable and devastating time would mean the world to them and our family.
