Assalamu Alaikum,
My name is Halima and I am fundraising for a young mother in Bangladesh and her newborn baby girl.
Both mother and child were born with dwarfism, and their lives have been filled with hardship from the very beginning. In their community, people with dwarfism are sadly looked down on, excluded, and treated as if they don’t matter. This young mother has grown up facing discrimination, and now her baby girl faces the same fate before even having a chance at life.
Recently, the mother gave birth by emergency C-section. While she is trying to stay strong, her baby was born with serious medical complications:
• A heart condition
• Severe jaundice
• Neonatal sepsis (life-threatening infection)
• Struggling to breathe and requiring oxygen support
Doctors have said she is “not fit for discharge” but had to be referred to another hospital because the family simply cannot afford the treatment.
The young mother has very little family support and lives in deep poverty. In her society, where disability is looked down upon, people do not care about their struggles. She has been left to fight this battle almost completely alone.
The heartbreaking reality is that the family’s thinking has become: “if the baby dies, the baby dies” — not because they don’t love her, but because they simply do not have the money or support for life-saving care.

Every donation will go directly toward:
• Urgent hospital treatment and medicines for the baby
• Specialist care for her heart condition, jaundice, and infection
• Basic support for the young mother to survive this crisis and enough to manage for the next few weeks
