William was born 3 months premature on 9/18/2020. He gets to spend those months in the NICU with some really amazing nurses and doctors taking care of him.  We visit him each day and are fortunate to have jobs we can take leaves from at reduced pay.
I'm making this page so that his mom can focus on bonding with him instead of worrying about his and her medical bills. Even with insurance, we are expecting his birth and care to cost several thousand dollars. Needless to say, it was a huge shock when he was born so early, and we are both starting therapy to help deal with the stress as well. 
We are looking forward to bringing William Nils Shemesh home on December 18th, happy and healthy. Until then, we have to stay strong and take care of each other. Someday soon, his proud papa is going to tell him about how he got lots of love and support from the people of the internet on GoFundMe!

UPDATE - December 18th isn't in the cards, but a few more weeks of growth is all he needs!
UPDATE 2 - He's home! 1/26/2021, after 130 days in the NICU...
