A  little boy was born on November 28, in Nairobi, Kenya.  Four weeks premature at a weight of only 1.2 kg , he lost his battle for survival on December 14. I removed his photo because it was too difficult for his grieving parents to see online.   Now, in addition to their grief and loss, his parents, William and Ruth,  are left with medical bills over $20,000 ( 2,061,811.00 KES. The bill shows the amount in the Kenya currency. ) for his stay in the neonatal intensive care unit. Their departed infant is being held at the hospital mortuary until the bill is paid.  Their savings have already been spent on medical bills during Ruth's difficult pregnancy. 

William  and  Ruth  run a small  tour company in Kenya.  I grieve with them, as do many others here in the United States who have come to know the family on the many wonderful safaris they have led over the years. 

Any funds received here will be withdrawn by me and then wired directly to the account in Nairobi.
