Baby Walker and the Landes family

My name is Lacie Owens, I am fundraising for my sister’s family. My sister, Bailie Landes, gave birth to her son, Walker, on 9/21. The delivery was successful but upon further inspection of Walker, the nurses realized there was something abnormal about his breathing and airway.

They determined he was born with a condition called “Tracheoesophageal Fistula”—his esophagus was connected to his lungs instead of his stomach. The hospital she delivered at didn’t have the capabilities to intubate or operate on a newborn, so he was immediately rushed 35 minutes away to another hospital where they performed the major surgery needed for his condition.

The surgery was a success—hallelujah!! His doctor and nurses said he’s a strong boy and took all the tests and procedures very well. We’ve never prayed so hard or been more thankful!

Walker will be in the NICU for at least 1 month to be monitored and recover from surgery. As Bailie and her husband Josh navigate the road to recovery for Walker, they are going to need a lot of support from friends and family.

Our family is “all hands on deck” for their 3 big kids (Kash, Jayden and Karlie) so that Bailie and Josh can be with Walker in the NICU as much as possible this month.

Josh has and will have to take a lot of time off of work to help care for Bailie as she recovers and to be near Walker in the hospital. They have bills piling up and have had many unforeseen expenses pop up over the past week. Please prayerfully consider giving financial support to this precious young family. Anything to relieve financial pressure for them during this time helps—even if it’s just enough to cover a meal.
