Baby Stevie Grace

Hello Everyone, my name is Morgan Rodgers, and I have created this fundraiser to support my sweet friends Emily and Andres Gavina.

On January 23, 2024, Emily and Andres welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl, Stevie Grace. Although we are very excited to have her here, she came into this world earlier than expected at just 27 weeks old. Emily began experiencing swelling and increased blood pressure prompting her husband to take her to the hospital. Once they arrived the staff attempted to decrease her pressure, but unfortunately none of the treatments helped. It was then decided, for the safety of mom and baby, an emergent c-section was necessary and Stevie was born at just 1lb 11.3oz. Baby Stevie is currently in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and is being monitored and cared for continuously until she is strong enough to go home to her mom and dad. It is expected that she will be in the NICU until at least April, which was her original due date.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to ease the financial burden that this long journey will require. As many of you know, Emily is an ICU nurse at Kennestone hospital and Andres is a police officer with Cherokee county. They are constantly selflessly helping others through their work and now we have an opportunity to give back to them so they are able to completely focus on Stevie and Emily's recovery.
