Dear friends, this fundraiser is set up to offset the cost of medical expenses, loss of wages, and travel for Stetson and his parents during this challenging time.

On March 28, 2022, Stetson Duran was born at the University of Utah with a rare birth defect known as gastroschisis. Gastroschisis (pronounced gas-troh-skee-sis) is a condition where a baby’s intestines are found outside of the baby’s body, exiting through a hole beside the belly button. After an Airmed flight from Wyoming, he was born at 33 weeks and has already endured one surgery shortly after birth to place the small bowel back in the abdomen and may be facing more. Stetson is currently at Primary Children's NICU and may face upwards of two months' stay. Baby Stetson will remain at Primary Children's Hospital until his intestines work correctly. However, Stetson may continue to have complications with his bowels throughout his life. His family wishes to get him healthy and strong enough to come home to be with them and his big "fur" brother. Stetson's mom is staying down in Utah to be by his side for the time being, as his Dad is traveling from Wyoming every week to stay the weekends with him.
