Hands in 4 Kevin

Kevin Mansfield was a happy kid with an infectious smile and bubbling personality. On Friday, February 23, 2018 all that changed. On this day, his mom came home to take him to the doctor only to find him not responsive. Kevin is currently in Neuro ICU at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has been diagnosed with Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy Myelitis brought on by the Flu Type B virus. He is only the second documented case of this strain. His immune system is attacking the nerve membranes of his brain forcing him into a coma. With extensive medical treatments, each day brings some excitement as Kevin has started to open his eyes, squeeze hands and wiggle toes on command.

Kevin’s family has embraced the motto, #babysteps and needs our support. All of this has placed a tremendous emotional and financial strain on the family. Even with insurance, the out of pocket expenses are adding up. Except for the standard GOFUNDME and merchant card fees, 100% of the money raised will go towards caring for Kevin with hospital bills and rehabilitation costs.
