Hello friends and family,

Yes, you read it right.  I’m asking you to help me get pregnant.   Not your typical ask, and definitely not something I thought I’d be asking during a pandemic, but here we are.

For my birthday this year (May 2, 2020), I am asking for help in raising the funds to pay for artificial insemination by anonymous donor.  My goal is to do my first try as soon as May or June.  

A little backstory: Nine years ago today (April 12)  I was hospitalized and went through a miscarriage which has to be surgically completed.  It devastated me and I have spend almost a decade years trying to find a way to have a baby.   For the past 4 years every decision I have made has been with this in mind.  Before you ask, 1) I would love to have a baby with a man I love, but that hasn’t worked out and I’ve been single now for 6 years.  2) Yes, I did ask a number of individuals to be the donor and they all said no.  

I'm on to option 3, which is to have a child on my own, if I'm lucky enough to conceive and carry to term.  I’ve prepared for this in every way possible: through attending to my health, business, where I live and the community I'm a part of.  Every decision since 2016 has been with a baby in mind.

The trouble is, getting pregnant costs a lot.  This is where you come in.  For my birthday (from quarantine) I want your help getting me pregnant.  They say it takes a village.  Well you are my village.  I have put this off month by month for an entire year and there’s no more time to wait.  

Here’s the breakdown:
- A vial of genetic material costs $1000
- To ship it to me costs $300
- The procedure done by a midwife is $250. 

This is the cheapest way to go, not even counting the cost of subscription to the donor online site, medical fees, and the expense of actually having a baby.  Beyond that, it usually takes a number of tries if you’re lucky enough to conceive.  So, $7000 is low-balling it.  That’s about 4 good tries.  Most women need 5-7.  

If I raise this amount and conceive early, anything extra will go toward medical expenses.  

This is truly what I’ve been praying for, asking for, working towards, and longing for, for a decade.  Please consider helping me make it possible.  I truly can not do this without you.
