Help Isabel & Gabe Rebuild Their Driveway

My name is Isabel and my partner and I live in Plainfield, Vermont. We were affected by the Vermont flood last year in 2023, and the same day a year later we were hit again by Hurricane Beryl. Although our home, pets and belongings remained safe, we lost our driveway again this year. We have a long driveway and repairs will cost twice as much as last year due to more damage occurring this year; as well as us wanting to make efforts and changes to ensure this does not happen again. This year we need to replace a damaged culvert, add a 3rd culvert, add a water bar, improve ditch work, as well as material and labor to re-fill and re-grade the massive ditches where material was washed away.

Last year we were able to get a loan through the Small Business Association due to a disaster declaration, which we have started to pay on. This year a disaster was not declared, therefore the option of another loan is not available to us. We recognize so many people lost so much more than us, and we also need some help to fix our driveway before winter. We watched, powerless to do anything, as our driveway became a raging river. We are deeply humbled and saddened to be re-living this nightmare again and our hearts are broken for the town and community in which we live. Gratefully yours, Isabel & Gabe
