Baby Scarlett ~ The Perfect Warrior

This GoFundMe is being set up in honor of my niece Scarlett. We are raising funds to help support her medical expenses and we are asking for hope, prayers and well wishes as we all await the results of her impending surgery. The following excerpt is from her parents Tyler and Rizza. We are all so grateful for your support!

Scarlett Eloise Atchue, Etta for short. ~ Our perfect little warrior is here. In the midst of the scariest moment of our lives came the greatest and purest love we have ever known. Born Thanksgiving day, November 23, 2023 at 11:36am. She came at exactly 34 weeks, 5 lbs 7 oz. She is currently stable in the NICU on a ventilator, chest tube, and several lines but she is so strong and resilient just like mommy and daddy. She was born with a lymphatic malformation in her chest cavity that has been compressing her lungs and heart along with the major blood vessels that supply the heart and lungs. We love you so much, our beautiful miracle girl. You are our whole world.

Our Etta had been stable for most of last week but the last few days she has been getting a worse. After she had an MRI done yesterday, the results showed that the cystic mass had spread out extensively to her thoracic cavity not leaving much room for her lungs. The head of the pediatric surgical team along with the neonatologists are almost confident it is a lymphatic malformation but are still doing tests to rule anything else out. With the rate of how fast it has grown again within the last few days, surgery has been strongly recommended for her. Since she is still so small, they initially wanted to wait until next week but the reality of her having it very soon is more imminent. Our darling girl is a week old today. Just within a week of her life, she has taught Tyler and I so many things. The purest form of love, patience, understanding, strength, and the most vigorous will to live. We are asking for prayers for our baby girl so that she will make a full recovery and we may be able to take her home and be in our arms where she is meant to be.

She’s currently awaiting surgery this Saturday to debulk and remove the masses. She has a long road to recovery but she’s a strong little girl.
