Baby Sage Lynn Fern Pfeifer
Donation protected
My daughter Christon Solomon and future son-in-law Caedyn Pfeifer found out they were expecting a baby girl due in late July/ early August.
We have just found out that baby Sage Lynn Fern has been diagnosed with Spina Bifida.
The Doctor's noticed it in her lower lumbar region and it has pulled on her skull which has caused her to take on a lemon shape and could cause issue with pressure on her brain. They were also informed that Sage has clubbed feet due to the spina bifida.
They have been told that if they wait to have surgery until after she is born then she will have a higher chance of having breathing issues, speech problems, learning disabilities and could possibly have to have a breathing tube, feeding tube and could also end up needing a shunt, walking assistance or be paralyzed.
They have been advised to have an in-utero surgery. They will operate on Sage while she is still inside Christon and fix her spine the best that they can. Christon is currently 20 weeks pregnant, and this has to be done before 25 weeks. They were told that if they do this surgery, it can improve the Sage's life by giving her less of a chance of having the issues mentioned above. There is still the chance of having the issues, but this surgery will hopefully make them less severe or less likely. There are many risks for both Christon and Sage with the surgery. They nearest doctor that can/will perform the surgery is in Houston, TX.

Christon & Caedyn are both going to have to take time off work to travel to Texas for this surgery and possibly the birth. There will also be many other doctor appointments and possible surgeries after Sage is born.
I am starting this go fund me to help with the expenses of medical appointments, travel, everyday bills and anything else that may come up.
Christon & Caedyn are getting married on April 23, 2022; they just bought their first home and both work full-time jobs. This is their first child. If you can help, we appreciate it more than you'll ever know. Every dollar and prayer will help.
