Baby Ruby Louise's Journey

Baby Ruby Louise was born on the 2nd of March 2020 in Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, Drogheda. Shortly after she was born she was transferred to Holles Street hospital and the following day she was rushed to the Crumlin Children's Hospital where she remained in a critical condition for the next 7 days on ECMO life support machine. Unfortunately the ECMO treatment is only available for a short time in Crumlin Children's Hospital and on the 10th of March Ruby was transferred by Air Ambulance to Stockholm in Sweden where she is continuing her ECMO treatment and receiving the best possible care.

ECMO is a life support machine that is used to treat people with temporary lung and heart failure. The machine takes over the function of oxygenating the blood in her lungs to allow the heart and lungs to rest and heal.

This page has been set up to help Ruby's parents Nikita Kerr and James Duff from Ardee and Drumcondrath with the financial burden of living expenses while in Sweden which could take from weeks to possibly months. Ruby has a long road ahead of her and when she is finished in Sweden she will be transferred back to Crumlin hospital where she will receive futher treatment.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help Nikita and James through this extremely difficult time.

We will keep you updated on the progress of Ruby Louise in he comings weeks.

Thank you in advance.
