Baby Riley Jake x

On Tuesday 28th May 2019, the lives of Hannah, Christian & Riley changed forever as they experienced what no parent should ever have to go through.
At just 6 weeks old, Riley collapsed - his heart stopped beating and he was unable to breathe. With the help of members of the public and the ambulance team, Riley was brought back after 30 minutes.
He was rushed to Stepping Hill hospital where a dedicated team worked incredibly hard to ensure Riley was kept stable. Later that day, he was transferred to Manchester Children's Hospital where he is receiving the best possible care.
At this point, there is no explanation as to how or why this happened to the healthy, happy, baby boy. He is in Intensive Care where he is being closely monitored by staff whilst they try and discover the cause. Riley is in a critical condition right now and is very, very poorly - he requires a ventilator to enable him to breathe safely and medication to ensure his blood pressure is stable. It is unclear at this stage how much lasting damage this incident has caused, but we can only hope & pray Riley gets back to being the healthy baby boy we know.
What we do know is that this will be a very long and hard journey for the family. Living in Buxton, the hospital is 25 miles away meaning travel costs will soon mount up, as well as general living costs, for a family who will have no income coming through as they will be unable to work due to the condition Riley is in.
We ask you to please support this young family through this devastating time - no matter how small or big, this will be greatly appreciated by both us and them.
Thank you all,
Katie & Laura x
