Update on Little Raelyn (10/2025)
Many of you have followed sweet Raelyn’s journey since she was born with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. From the very start, she has faced challenges that most of us could never imagine — countless fractures, hospital stays, splints, casts, and unimaginable pain for such a tiny girl.
Recently, Raelyn suffered another serious setback: she broke her left leg in two places — both the upper and lower leg. The pain she’s been in has been heartbreaking to watch.
Her doctors decided that instead of waiting until next year, they would move forward with a surgery called “rodding.” This procedure involves placing metal rods inside her bones to help straighten them, strengthen them, and prevent future breaks as she becomes more mobile and active. Because she already needed anesthesia to set her fractures, the surgeons performed the full procedure now — which means less downtime, less anesthesia exposure, and hopefully less pain overall.
We’re so thankful to share that the surgery was a success!
Raelyn is recovering in the hospital, and while her healing process will take time, this surgery gives her a much better chance at a more stable, pain-free childhood.
However, her ongoing medical care is incredibly costly — between hospital stays, specialist visits, surgeries, equipment, and travel expenses, the costs continue to add up quickly. This is why we’ve reopened this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on her parents and ensure Raelyn continues to receive the best care possible.
Every single donation, share, and prayer makes a difference for this brave little girl.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and continued love for Raelyn and our family.
With gratitude,
Nuber/Wooten Family

**Previous post ( September 2023)
At this moment, we are walking on an unknown path with Raelyn, but we have already seen that she is a little fighter with what looks to be many days ahead of her in the NICU.
For those of you who do not know her story, Raelyn has a rare disease called osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease). Before she was even born, she had already endured multiple broken bones. Her tiny lungs (which are too small) are struggling to keep up with her oxygen intake. She has many tests ahead of her, along with x-rays in order to get a better view of what the days, weeks, or more will hold for her.
We appreciate any and all who are able to help to relieve the stress entailed from the cost of fuel, food, and the possibility of uncovered medical bills.
