Hi, I’m  Emma and Jayna Stone is one of my best friends . Her youngest daughter Raegan is currently extremely ill and admitted to Helen Devos PICU. She is one of the most caring people I know and would do anything to help her family and friends. She is an RN with Trinity Health , and has had to miss work many times due to Raegans illnesses. She applied for FMLA but it was denied due to just having used it for maternity leave . The last thing she should have to worry about right now is money and as a single mom with two other kids at home , she’s understandably worried about bills . As her friend I hate that there’s nothing I can do to help her in this situation , but I would like to at least ease the financial burden she’s facing during this stressful time .

So they didn’t have to intubate she had an ok night.

She’s on 60%fio2 PEEP at 6. This morning she became extremely agitated again so they had to up her presedex drip (sedation medication) and bolus her and moved it up to 1.5 they think it’s because she hasn’t eaten and is having a lot of gas pain from all of the air and obviously everything else. But they were worried because her diastolic was 20 and that medication lowers it. She has still been running fevers. So they’ve been doing Tylenol and toradol. They are going to round starting at 830 so hopefully we can get a better plan.

So we talked to one of the icu doctors last night. We were explaining her history. He said he thinks she’s been micro aspirating this whole time which was causing her lungs to be inflamed. So then when she would get sick and get a virus it would be 10x worse then it would normally be.

Jaynas update from 10/6

Please. Asking for all of the prayers for my baby girl Raegan Layne. She is not doing the best this morning. We are at Devos and she was admitted last night. They believe she has some type of virus (negative for RSV, Covid and the Flu) and now has bronchiolitis. They just moved her up to 18L of high flow. Her lungs have started to sound wheezy this morning and her breathing has become much more labored. If increasing to 18L doesn’t help they are talking about adding in a albuterol treatment…then going from there. She had a NG placed for her feedings as well. She is miserable. Please pray for my normally… smiley sweetheart.
