The Van Beveren family is trying to raise money to help sweet baby Norah. She was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Mitochondrial Disease last year (she is one of only a handful of diagnosed people in the world that have this) and since then it has been an uphill battle. There is no cure currently for her condition and is sadly extremely life threatening, especially for Norah as she is not even two years old yet. The last year has been filled with countless doctor visits and a few dire hospitalizations; her parents are fighting for her life with all that they have. It has been an absolute battle for them with the medical world, fighting with insurance and pleading with doctors and clinics to help them save their baby girl. They are working as hard as they can to do whatever possible to give her a happier and longer life, which requires much time and resources. We are reaching out to whoever can help, even if its just a little. All funds raised will go directly to supporting her parents, Wade & Ly Van Beveren who are caring for her on their own round the clock, and towards researching medical options and doctors to find any way to save her life and make this sweet little girl better.
This is one of the hardest things a parent has to go through and we are trying to relieve just a bit of the burden by helping out financially. Hopefully it will be one less thing they have to worry about. And when it comes down to treatments and traveling, the last thing you want to worry about is money when you are trying to save your daughter’s life and make important decisions. This year alone they have had to take an emergency airplane ride to Los Angeles to transport Norah to UCLA for a three week stay, the price of which was beyond imaginable. They have also moved from Santa Ynez to Santa Barbara to be closer to the hospital.
Hopefully with everyone's generosity we can help them travel, see specialists, pay for medicine and treatments or supplies (she needs a special car seat and high chair) to help her at home, or just make ends meet in this trying time. They do have an insurance, but it by NO means covers everything this little one needs!
Anything helps and the whole family greatly appreciates any donation you can make! And if you can share this with as many people as you can it would mean the world!!!
