Baby Myles’s Medical Fund

We thought the fight for our rainbow baby would finally be over once he was born last week. Unfortunately, our sweet boy became extremely sick at just three days old, from a virus he contracted at birth. Our boy began having fevers and Ian rushed him to the ER, where they quickly got him started on IV antibiotics and ordered a transfer to Phoenix Childrens Hospital for the severity of his condition. Ian and Myles were transferred via ambulance at code blue status to PCH, where they were admitted. Doctors immediately began every test possible and placed Myles on all necessary medication to make sure what he had didn’t progress any further. The first three days in the hospital were terrifying, to the point we weren’t sure we’d be bringing our baby home at all. But after having a brain scan to check for brain damage/bleeds/fluid, an EEG to check for seizures, an EKG and echo to check his heart, constant blood draws to check organ functionality, and many other tests, we have been provided with truly unbelievable perfect results. Doctors can not believe how well he is doing, and said we acted as fast as we could have, and it really saved his life. Myles will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks to receive IV Anti-viral therapy to clear the virus from his system. We are waiting for him to receive a lumbar puncture to determine if the virus reached his nervous system. If it did we will be here for 3 weeks, if it didn’t, we’ll be here for 2.
When all this began, I was already in the hospital readmitted for postpartum complications. I nearly went septic, and I required a 4 day stay in the hospital. For 4 days I was separated from my newborn, unsure if I’d ever even be able to hold him again. It was the most traumatizing, scary few days I’ve ever experienced. Right now, things are stable and I’m reunited with my sweet boy, but we still have a long road ahead of us. Please keep our family in your prayers, for myles recovery, and for our other two who are so worried for their baby brother and confused why he can’t be home.

We’ve started this go fund me to hopefully cover some of the financial burden of medical costs, gas costs, and any other unexpected costs that come from our hospital stay.
