Baby Michaels Journey

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I am fundraising for my sister Ashley and her husband Michael who has received some devastating news. My nephew Michael Jr was born on December 10, 2020 and was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 Down Syndrome. There are several health conditions that are associated with this diagnosis. Baby Michael has been to so many cardiology and hematology doctor appointments where he has had his fair share of needle pokes and blood draws. He was recently diagnosed with MDS pre-leukemia (Myelodysplastic syndrome). MDS is a disorder where abnormal blood-forming cells develop in the bone marrow and if left untreated can develop into AML (Acute myeloid leukemia.)
Michael will be starting Chemotherapy treatment on Tuesday April 26th, and it may last up to 6 months. My sister and brother-in-law will be unable to work full-time through this whole process. Someone must be at the hospital with Michael 24 hours a day. Between being there and driving back home to take care of their 7-year-old son their expenses are going to go through the roof.
