On July 15, 2016, Michaela Katherine Porter was born in Dallas, Texas to Michael and Katie Porter. Do to unforeseen circumstances, baby Porter did not survive.
The death of any loved one is always a cause for mourning. However, when a baby dies, there is a deep sadness that goes beyond any type of normal grief. We expect that the old will always outlive the young. When a person who has lived a full life passes, there is a sense that they had the opportunity to experience the true meaning of life. On the other hand, when a baby suddenly passes away, there is no opportunity to experience life, love and happiness. The death of a baby seems meaningless.

As many of you can understand, this is an extremely traumatic event for the family but especially for the parents of the newborn. They have planned meticulously for 9 months to welcome a beautiful soul into this world. They have prepared a baby room that was perfectly decorated for their baby girl. They have worked hard to get everything ready for this new addition to the family. Finally, they have envisioned how baby Michaela would grow up and become a beautiful woman.

All of these thoughts, plans and hopes were cut short for reasons we will never understand. The Porter's need our help, they need our support. Mike will need to be there for Katie and Katie will need to be there for Mike. They both will need to take time off to try and heal their hearts. This is a journey that will not be easy and they will need to alleviate as much stress as possible to be successful in that journey.
We are asking for your donation to help your friend, your acquaintance, your loved one to make it a little easier on them once they start to make their journey to heal.

My Little Angel
April Westlake©
I never got to hold you,
Or kiss your little head
Or watch you sleeping soundly,
All snuggled in your bed.
I can't count your tiny fingers,
Or you even smaller toes
I won't see your smile,
Or your cute little button nose.
I know you are in heaven,
Where there is no pain or tears.
You'll never get hurt or sick,
In heaven there are no fears
And though I'm sad you're not here right now
For us to hold today
I know we'll hold you in our arms
When we're in heaven with you someday
