Hello, my name is Brittany Maklary and I am trying to raise funds for my nephew’s funeral expenses.

My family has been put in a traumatic and very sad situation. My newborn nephew, was born on August 14th and died on August 17th. My mom and her husband have been given the grave detail of funeral costs.

The baby’s parents, Chelsie Maklary (Mother) and Marshall Allen (Father) completely abandoned their baby. Them abandoning their poor baby boy is the reasoning my family is left with this extremely heart breaking position.

The baby boy was born with Marijuana, Heroin, and Methamphetamine in his system. After birth he was rushed to a different hospital. My sister stayed at the hospital where she gave birth but later left without notifying staff. She escaped the hospital before ever creating a Birth Certificate and giving the baby boy a name. My mother was contacted by DCS the evening of August 16th, where she was notified of the following…

1. My sister had given birth to a baby boy.

2. Chelsie had escaped the hospital and law enforcement was notified by staff.

3. Baby boy was in critical condition and it was likely he would not survive and that they would notify my Mom with any updates.

The next morning in the early hours, my Mother was contacted again and notified that the baby boy passed away. On top of my mother being told her grandson died, she was also asked if she would be willing to take on the role of funeral arrangements, otherwise he would be buried as a John Doe of the State. Currently he is in a funeral home labeled as “Baby Boy Maklary, abandoned by Mother”.

My nephew deserves a name and an identity and we decided to name him Michael James Maklary (Baby Michael).  Named after Archangel Michael and the Apostle James.

Chelsie and Marshall have not contacted the hospital or authorities in regards to their child. The couple were seen walking on the side of the road and were notified of their babies death on August 19th, with no reaction or sympathy of what they caused. Both have been living on the streets for over 2 years, and have been using for longer. My sister has not contacted my family during this timeframe. Authorities were notified of their whereabouts. DCS is no longer involved because baby Michael died before they could take custody where it would have been under investigation. Currently there are no charges for prosecution so unfortunately authorities hands were tied.

Due to all of these facts my family needs help to cover the funeral and burial arrangements . My mother has already applied for county financial aide but was not approved, along with being denied by all other financial aides, and cannot afford the costs due to the financial shock and urgency of the situation.

We would appreciate any donations, big or small. Anything will help. Please keep Baby Michael in your prayers along with the healing and heartbreak our family is currently surviving through. Baby Michael’s existence deserves to be known. He lived on this earth, even though it was only for a few days. He contributed a light source regardless of the darkness he was born into . His light will burn for eternity.
