Merritt June Squire

Sweet baby Merritt June was born on December 20th, 2023 to Mari Jo Massanet and Layton Squire. After taking Merritt to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines on January 5th, Merritt was rushed to the Omaha Children’s Hospital with confirmed heart failure. We found out that her heart is only functioning at about 20%. She was paralyzed and intubated upon arrival to put in lines to start administering medicine to her heart and allow her heart to stop trying to work overtime. What we know right now is that the hospital stay for sweet Merritt is going to be a lengthy one. If the community can do one thing for this family I’m asking anyone and everyone to please consider donating to this very deserving family right now to help alleviate some financial stress that could be setting in. There is going to be all kinds of medical expenses moving forward with Merritt and on top of all that Mari Jo’s job does not offer any type of paid maternity leave. The last thing we want them to have to worry about is money right now.

If you can do one thing: please, please, please just pray for this baby girl and that God’s healing hands will be with her at all times. Pray to give this girl the strength to keep fighting and making improvements. She is one strong baby girl.

Their main focus right now is Merritt.
